Bump. I would love something of the sort myself... definitely willing to shove a couple dollars out for a nice pack :)

Honestly, just plug in a midi keyboard, hit the random patch button on any synth, add random fx and just record .

+1. that way you can avoid the monotony of vengeance samples/have things in your tempo instantly.

I agree/disagree with this! sometimes FX can be a strong stable in a track, whereas in others it can have minimal effect. My take on it is this; use both to your advantage. If you're really in the "zone" & don't wanna stop to create FX from scratch use a sample, if you want to create a track based around some mangled f*cked up sample then it's worth putting in the extra work.

For what it's worth, my favourie software for this is http://www.camelaudio.com/camelspace.php :)

yeah that's fair play. sometimes, if it's not natural, you don't want to slow the train.

I dunno, a huge percentage of my time these days goes into sound crafting, so I'm not as fond as I was of sample packs like that. once upon a time, that wasn't the case, though, so I empathise

No you misunderstood. I didn't mean while making the track, I meant before. One day, sit down and make as much as you can and there you go, you now have your own sample bank. Then mix and match with yours or existing FX as you please :)

Vengeance does indeed have some quickly deployable FX samples. If used creatively and with a little bit of technical prowess, you can use these without sounding right out of the box, they're just effective. Loop Masters has sample packs from tons of well known producers/artists, and most of them have FX samples included from the featured producer. So there are some cool unique ones in those. Lately I've been focusing on creating my own FX and that has been really fun, especially since you have more control over the notes, pitch, everything, it can be a more organic addition to your track. Either way will check out the ones mentioned here at some point.

Quantize
On the synth front, Sylenth and Massive produce great FX through the random button.

Push Button Bang - Twist and I think the other one is called Build & Risers are nice sample packs.

White noise & frozen verb pushed through all sorts of effects plugs make nice transitions - if you use Ableton there is a free tutorial here (might be useful for other DAW's also) : http://www.quantizecourses.com/pages.php/?p=674
