every morning there is about 50 head of elk in my field, if i dont get my dogs boundary collars on before i let them out they pull one of those... only i dont chase after them, they always come back home about 30 mins later after chasing elk across the river.
but to save myself from being late for work i make sure before we go outside the collars are on so they cant leave the yard....
also, that dog had to be in heaven chasing all those
kadomony
still the best take ive seen thus far

Yes, as a dog owner, I have been in similar, embarrassing situations. Luckily, never on this scale though. :)

The closest I've got is when my dog (also a black lab) ran joyously into a flock of hundreds of geese and sent them all up in the air in a deafening panic. But there've been many occasions where my dog has started chasing something in the distance and I know he's not coming back for a long time.
Look at the end of this video: a herd of deer stampeding across a road, stopping traffic, heading for a distant tree line. This could go on for hours.
