Not sure if everyone heard this, my friend got a letter from his isp that the RIAA contacted them about dc++ so i guess ya, just keep a look out, they dont care about trance really do they?

I said this a while ago that dc was next. I'm not claiming to be a genius, any fool could have seen this coming. The RIAA success at obtaining ISP records has more serious implications. It won't be that difficult for the RIAA to prosecute ppl if they get access to your download logs. When will it have a noticable impact on the average user? is the only question that remains. Not good is all i can say.
edit: Anyone who uses a personal broadband connection should read their ISP agreement. You'd be surprised how few rights you are afforded. Most ISP have the right to terminate your service without notice for a multitude of reasons. |

What kinda music does your friend listen to, which hubs does he regular and who is his ISP? |

I am pretty sure that they used mp3's that they could legally distribute. |

isn't it illegal to do something illegal in order to catch someone?
plus, don't hubs have disclaimers stating that if you're from the RIAA then it's illegal to enter that hub? is that valid? |
