Fandango Hell

I had one of the worst movie experiences ever! Today my friends and I want to go see Fahrenheit 9/11, so I look it up on the Internet and the closest cinema is an hour away. My friend says call and make sure they’re not sold out. I do and the guy tells me yesterday was sold out and I should order tickets online at Fandango just to be safe. (This is where the problems start) I’m pressed for time so I fill out an online form, pay with my credit card, and jump in my car.
Fast-forward one hour, get in line, and claim my tickets. The guy asks to see my credit card, that’s when I discover I left it at home next to my computer. Ok no problem, I tell him my name and show him some ID, I’m the guy who called you an hour ago. Sorry can’t give you your tickets without your card. Ok well give me a refund or coupons for another show when I come back another time. Sorry no can do, those tickets are only good for that show only. Ok let me talk to the manager. He says he will give me a refund only if I bring back my card in person the same day. Now I’m really getting mad. Look can’t you just let me in and I’ll write down my name, address, and phone, and send you the proof that I purchase it when I get home. No deal. By this time we've missed 20 minutes of the movie so we can't even buy the tickets again, so my friends and I storm out.
After I cool off I realize I’m not going to throw $25 bucks away so I drive 1 hr home and 1 hr back. I get my refund and I notice it’s $4 short. Well because you bought them on the Internet we’re charging you a refund fee.
I was so pissed I wanted to come back with an Uzi and go postal on the cinema. Sure it was my fault for leaving my credit card at home, but those f*ucking pricks were so inflexible it’s unreal. Would it have been such a big deal to say ok this time I’ll let you in but in the future… Most places they use a credit card to hold your tickets but they don’t charge it. Even if they charge, it's common place to claim your tickets using your name. They pitch Fandango as a service to make things easier for the consumer when it’s really setup for their benefit and easy, not yours. Last time I ever buy ticket online.

Damn that's bad. I'm not completely sure how Fandango works, but everytime I used it I never had to go to the theater to pickup my tickets since I had the option to print my tickets online from Fandango's website. |

the ticket situation wouldn't have bothered me so much, but the fact that you were an hour away really makes the difference.. damn |
