i just recently installed windowns XP. i haven't burnt a cd since so i didn't know the ones i'm using, Nero and HP Cd writer has problems and issues with XP.
i need to find another cd burning software. for XP of course.

Try getting Windows XP specific drivers for your cd players make and model from the manufacturers website
