I think I remember reading that they can't. But why do they stare at TV screens then?

I think I'll do some research.

i think they can see images from a certain distance but they are colorblind. or so i heard... i know my baby likes watching the tv w/ me. but whenever he sees animals or animated animal figures, he runs to the tv and starts barking. and whenver we comment on some cute animal on tv like "awwwww", he gets jealous and gets mad and stars barking at the tv. lol...:p

My cat watches TV. When he was little if an animal came onto the screen he would react. It had nothing to do with sound...he reacted to the image. I've had the same thing happen to other pets. For entertainment I put in Otis & Milo and I have watched five different pets sit and watch it. I had a Pug at one time and she sat and watched that movie with a completely bewildered look on her face. Everytime the Pug came onto the screen she would tilt her head and go closer to the TV.

If you put on Animal Planet you might find that your pet will watch TV.

their eye anatomy is pretty much the same as ours. Its just they have more rods. Which are good for seeing in dim light, and they are in greyish colors.

so yea, they see the tv, its just all grey n stuff.

I read somewhere that if you show them a picture, they see the paper, but not what's on tit, don't know if it's true and if the same applies to TVs...

the funny thing is to put them infront of a mirror when they are quite young. :haha:

why in the hell would they not see whats ont he paper. Since they have large concentrations of rods they won't see a lot of detail. but they will still see it.

unless it is like one of those pictures they use to test for colorblindness. where they have numbers in green and the outside in red. Those with red/green colorbllindness see nothing in there.
