Has anyone else seen this?
I went in expecting something very similar to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. But wow. It was seriously one of the best movies I've ever seen. The story was flawless, and the actors did a very nice job of portraying their characters. None of them seemed fake. The cinemetography was spectacular, some of those shots were so nice. The action was like a dance. It took everything in Crouching Tiger and made it better. Oh man. I can't even think of anything that I didn't like about it.
Discuss.
Edit: I know this has been posted before, but most of the replies on that thread were posted before it actually came out, and there was little discussion of the movie itself. |

I'd seen it in Chinese class before it saw a wide-release; I didn't think it was anything special. Personally, I thought that as a movie it was really full of itself. To borrow from Ishkur, it was the cinematic equivalent of using "big, obfuscating words to get your point across, but everyone knows you're just full of [sic]." |

i thought it was a great movie. cool but fake fighting aside, the acting and plot of the movie was excellent, as with the way the movie progressed.
The story unravelling is quite amazing and truely unique and not cookie-cutter movie making.
*****spoilers****
The only thing that bothered me was the wording of "our land" in the subtitle. In chinese the guy said something like "tien shiang" which is more like "sky above" or something close.

Wow I did not realize that - I would assume that would complicate things even more and confuse the audience...
It kinda loses it's spark with that translation :\ |

To say the truth, I hated the movie, just came back right now, and wish I had walked out half way, but was duped into believing it was going to get better. |

The best thing about this movie is the cinematography.
Amazing points of view, and camera shots. |
