Whats the worst dental procedure you have had done to you.
I had 3 impacted wisdom teeth, and i just had all 4 removed. Ive been in the worst fucing pain of my life for the last 2 days. The worst part is that i couldnt be put under gas cause of my asthma so i was awake for the whole thing. Oh my god everytime i heard the *CRACK* of him splitting the teeth i wanted to puke. On my lower left side he had to break teh tooth into 4 pieces. And to top it off i might have nerve damage in the bottom portion of my chin cause of the operation came so close to the nerve. |

I had 3 wisdom teeth removed under general anaesthetic, was on meds for a week after to help it heal
I've had tons of fillings cos my teeth aren't great, i lack calcium intakes, but the worst was when i had 2 removed last year when they were taken out with me totally awake, just numbed, and they were forced out inc the roots with just brutal force against my jawline and underneath the teeth from the dentist |

they knocked me out completely, took my teeth out, woke me up and handed me a prescription for oxycodin. not a bad deal, if you ask me. :p |

When I was 12 or so I was having braces removed. They put these metal clasps on your back teeth that the braces wire connects into. To remove those clasps (which are glued on when you get them), they use a little tool not unlike a pair of pliers that pushes the clasp off the tooth while pushing the tooth in towards the gum - well, my orthodontist was getting impatient with one of the clasps that refused to come off, so he ended up using so much force to remove it that my god damn permanent back tooth came half way out. This was with zero ansthesia or anything. Damn thing was loose for a few weeks. ******.
I still have those clasps on my bottom teeth. They've been there for years, and I'm used to em, so I have no intention of getting them taken off.

Worst for me was when I had to get fillings done on my two front teeth. The needle they give you feels like it's coming out of your nose. To make things worse, the dentist has to use all of his/her force to shove the needle in deep enough, since that area is very 'hard'.
Never again! I'd rather get a root canal done. |

to be honest, it doesn't hurt, it stings in a weird way from the scratch, plus it freezes your nose, it is unpleasant but not bad as you make out (maybe cos i'm used to it lol) |

Before i got my braces back in high school, i had to have 4 permanent teeth pulled. Dentist did them all in the same day, and while it was no picnic, the procedure and recovery werent as bad as i thought it would be.
Few years ago, I had to have my wisdom teeth pulled. 3 were impacted, one of which had to be broken apart so they could get it out. The sound of your tooth "crunching" inside your mouth is sickening, and for some reason, one side of my lower jaw took like 5 extra shots before it went numb. Then after the procedure was done, a few days later the swelling started going back up rather than down. Went back to dentist, and i had an infection (same area that they had to break the tooth), so they had to put in some kind of drainage tube. worst part was i was to start leave the next day to go see my girlfriend and i almost had to cancel it because of the infection, but luckily they called another military base in washington, and were able to have a dentist see me to make sure the infection was taken care of. |

Quite a few people I know have had a lot of pain.
I, on the other hand, got all four of mine (impacted) pulled a week ago. Very little pain. Some pressure, sure, but I didn't need to take any of the painkillers. The dentist was quite surprised when I told him about it. |

I had my gums trimmed when I was in junior high because of my braces.
That kind of sucked. |

Naw man i aint exaggerating. The procedure itself dosnt hurt, I said it was ing gross hearing the crack of the tooth and you feel the dentist forcing loads of weight onto the tooth to get it to crack. they had to crack all 4 wisdom teeth, the one that was close to the nerve had to be broken into 4 pieces.
Its once the the novacaine wears off at home that it hurts like a mother******, I got stitches in 4 diffrent places in my mouth right now and if i even try to talk they pull and hurt like a bitch. the 5 "holes" were bleeding for well over 6 hours, I had to force my mouth open despite the stitches to change the gauss thats soaking up the blood. All i got for the pain was tylenol 3's which is alright except for the fact that i couldnt get the perscription filled for well over 3 hours after the procedure. Right now the left side of my chin as well as a bit of my lip is numb and its going to take voer 3 weeks to come back....if it comes back at all.
I think the reason for the pain for me was becasue the nerve below the teeth ran very close the the tooth on my left side, much more close then the dentist had seen on anyone before.
and i had braces as well, its does hurt like hell when they force the brackets off. |
