Question for people in leftist countries

mezzir
and by leftist countries, i mean countries where you drive on the left
so here in the US we drive on the right, but also on sidewalks its typical to walk on the right, and on escalators you're always on the right one, going up or down, and drivethrus always go around the building counter-clockwise
so is all that the opposite in places where you drive on the left?

i did, couldn't find a solid answer
did find one funny thing though, on some page of 'ponderables' or w/e

"Why are elevators in the UK called 'lifts'? Don't they also go down?"

haha
we call them elevators
if someone's wondering why lifts also do the opposite of lift, what about elevators doing the opposite of elevating? :toothless

Pedestrians walk on and along the left side of a highway when not walking on a sidewalk.

Hong Kong, too

This reminded me of a thing (I heard) that happened during the debate when Sweden was about to change from left to right. A man called to a radio show and said he had a suggestion:

"Why stress this? Let's not make any drastic changes, let the heavy traffic like trucks and busses start with driving on right side so they get used to it. The rest of us could follow a couple of weeks later..."
