If I am to understand that correctly, the bullet just glances off the sharp edge of the blade?
Theoretically, one could block bullets if they knew how to use the sword correctly and could anticipate a single 9mm round.
I've seen people catch arrows with their hands, but that's pretty crazy! |

There were two wholes in the paper either side of the blade, so I think the bullet was actually cut into two pieces as it struck the edge. This isn't surprising as the blade is probably extremely hard, well tempered carbon steel and the bullet is mainly lead - a very soft metal. |
