I just installed XM in my car, and its great! The dance channels are pretty good, some of the tracks are dated, but they do play a good bit of new stuff.
There's like 3 dance channels "The Move", "BPM", and "The System"
The Move plays more downtempo, deep house, but I've heard like Max Graham sets on there too, so they do sway from their format.
BPM plays more of the vocal and cheese trance/house that alot of us hate , they do play some underground/less cheesey stuff though too.
The System is the channel I listen to the most, becuase play stuff like Vadim Zhukov, Airwave, Aalto, the more non-cheese trance that most of us on here like :D
I am quite happy with it, but I would reccomend letting someone do the install for you! And the sticky tape they give you with the mount is a JOKE, I washed the spot with alcohol pads, warmed up the tape, etc, and after a few days the mount fell right off my dashboard, I just mounted it onto my dash using machine screws :)
All in all i'm quite happy, considering where I live its all country and bad rap stations :(
The SkyFi is the unit I bought, you can put it in a boombox device aswell, plus it has cool features like you can hit this memory button, and it will record song names for you, so you can go find the tracks later and stuff. :) |

why did you choose xm over sirius? i'm thinking about waiting for when howard stern is about to go on sirius and then get that one. i figure they'll both be kinda the same, plus sirius i think has all the nfl games on it too, don't know about xm. either way, listening to music without the commercials must be pretty sweet. |

xm > sirius
1) sound quality
2) track selection
3) channel selection |

but a lot of things go into the sound quality, including the quality of your car stereo, no? not just satellite itself? i could be wrong |

Only 3 dance stations, yeah. I love them all though---they broadcast DJ Zoltar sets all the time on The System I believe. Its great car music ;) |

XM seemed to have more stuff I liked when I compared the two, I also like the death metal and hiphop channels aswell, plus they have a great opera channel. I didnt really care about the sports stuff, because I don't really watch sports at all, but Sirius seems to be more tailored for the american football fans :P And yes, commercial free radio is ing amazing.
All in all, I love the damn thing! |

seriously though, I've heard their sales are really great this quarter and that they'll be expanding. |

You gotta buy the XM reciever, which is like 100 dollars and it costs 10 dollars a month, so no, you cant get it with your 50 bucks :P
I think Sirius was giving away free recievers for awhile if you signed up for their service, don't know if they are still doing that :)
