favorite movie scenes

i was listening to music and as it quite often does i was thinking about how much more perfect a movie scene flows with the right score supporting it. even in a movie that i think is just ok, the right melody in the background can make a dramatic scene so much more powerful.
one example i thought of was due to the music i was listening to was the scene in American Beauty where the guy is showing the girl the video he made of the plastic bag blowing in the wind. a very deep scene to begin with but with the music that is playing....amazing.
any of you have any scenes like this you can think of off the top of your heads? please share.... |

if anyone has seen Rules of Attraction...
the scene where the girl with the braids commits suicide in the bathtub, and she starts slitting her wrists as Harry Nilsson's "Without You" is playing, and the music and picture sort of starts to warp and distort as she cuts her wrists more and more, as she is gritting her teeth and starts to cry... it was an intense scene. made me nauseous when i saw it in the theater. |

i've got the double cd to each star wars film 4, 5 and 6.
i hate star wars, and i've only seen each of the originals about 30 times each or so, it's quite cool listening to each sound track CD (from start to end if you've got the inclination & time) and imagining the film just from the soundtrack...you notice a LOT more detail in the sound track than you do when you just watch the films.
