dear all,
thank you all for your heartwarming replies
unfortunatly I have little time to write in this detail but I would like to ask you to be so kind as to pass this on.
We, the group of clubs and restaurants I manage, are doing fund-raiser "party" here in Singapore next week. Now, I know that it's very odd to hold a party during all this but since this is our business this is the only way we know how to generate large amounts of cash.
I need your help. I am asking you to send this request to any DJ you know that could play two nights in Singapore for free. Airline and hotel will get taken care of. We wish to raise at least $200.000 by donating all earnings directly to the red cross who'm we've had a close relation with for many years.
Please understand that the market is such that the more "famous" the DJ, the more people we can attract and thus the more money we can generate. I've emailed a lot of people already but could really use your kind assistance to send this to whomever you think could do this.
I understand that some of you might find this a bit peculiar but please bare in mind that I personally have lost 5 friends and their families to this disaster and cannot sit and watch tv without doing anything
you can contact me directly at +65 - 90999205 or email at orhan@discoholic.com
As the tears roll over my face whilst i write this I thank you from the bottom of my heart

an excellent idea .. if anyone wants to know ..
indonesia's money exchange rate (indonesia had the most casualities .. like over 20,000+ peeps) is :
$1 US dollar ~= 9000 rupiahs (<== indonesia's exchange rate) .. so every dollar counts .. if anyone feels like $3 or $5 is too small, it is not .. every dollar counts here .. i myself am going to donate most of my money to them, since they need it the most . |

You can also donate to the redcross through www.amazon.com. One-click payment for a donation if you've ever bought anything on amazon before. They've raised over $3,000,000 so far. |

+1
I plan on donating, but I want to give it to an agency that will use it toward the victims, but not their pockets |
