So, how did you spend your NYE 2005?

For me it was getting hammered in a Russian Restaurant in Philly until 6AM, witnessing 3 rounds of a fight between Russian-speaking russians, as americans call us) and Georgian-speaking russians (again, as americans call us). :thepirate
No one knows what the fight was all about, all I know is that it was like bunch of russians swinging at georgians - no clear winner. Though I did manage to stop one of my aquantances from pulling out his gun from his trunk by locking his car keys (by accident or divine intervention) in the trunk. Well, parts of the keys were inside and some were outside - which was hillarious (to me). Dude couldn't get his gun and spent an hour trying to retreive his house key, so he could have someone drive him to get the spare key. Oh, and police was camped out from 4AM (about 30 mins after fight started and eventually broke up) until closing.
Otherwise, decent night. Highlight of the evening: Seeing about 200 drunken russians over 40 dancing to "As the Rush Comes" - AVB remix. :nervous: Yes, we do spice it up - so among the traditional "russian" folk and jewish folk songs, we get our share of DJ Sammy's "Summer's gone", Mel C's "I turn to you" and yes... "As the Rush Comes". :stongue:
So here I am at 1pm, nursing a major hang over from having downed 3/4 bottle of Cognac (we do cognac shots, chased by lemon - just like tequila :D - us, crazy "russkies") and listening to some soothing trance. :happy2:
And soon, I'm off to see "Nemo on Ice" with my kid and wife... :D

| at the club in cincin and i feeling good so i started speeding to get home before the cop got out and then well 120 is a buzz kill, so i got home and sat aroudn then passed out :D |

I spent it posting about a million posts in the COR... how exiting is that ? Atleast I had good company.
If I look at the COR almost every single post on the front page has a DOT on the envelope. hahaha I've been busy.

| Went to a small lounge that was packed about 2 miles from my house. My slut frind was the bartender so I got hammered for free. Had alot of fun but too many horney middle aged women hammered with thier push up bra's hitting on me. |

Interesting question... Too long to explain. The jewish population (which could be from any of the former replublics, such as Ukraine, Russia, Belarusia, Moldova, et) may say "Russian" - coz that's how we're generalized. Some say "Jewish" - but that doesn't really state where you're from, unless you're from Israel.
So, you can hear any number of responses, depending on the geographic and national identity confusion person experiences.
When someone asks me, I say I'm Ukrainian - though I don't really consider myself Ukrainian (being born in Ukrain didn't help either) - all thanks to the fact that former Soviet regime felt necessary to clasify "Jew" as a nationality (not a religion).
Though, newer generation of immigrants has a better national identity then they had before. Immigrants 20 years ago could classify themselves as "russians", even though they may be from another republic (not Russian Federation).
Today, I don't believe a Ukrainian immigrant would dare to call himself "Russian" -as it is a dirty word there.
Makes more sense? :)
Anyway, moving from political/geographical/ethnic discussion back to topic.
