It does look amazing!!!
To all that want to see it I'd suggest reading the book first. I started reading that book and now I cant get away from it!!! Its so addictive and so amazing. Hopefully the movie will live up to its standards.
Forgive me for going on about this, but i'm just too into this great masterpiece that I'd hate ppl to think it sucked just because they didnt understand the history of Tolkien's tales.
And about the movie; I'm watching it the first day it comes out!!! :D |

I met Peter Jackson (the director) one time before he was famous - he's a Kiwi, and my cousin used to work in his production studio in Wellington. Dropped in to say hello when I was passing through town and ended up sitting at a lunch room table with him. Another pal of mine, Vanessa, has got a part in it as one of the elf maidens ... mind you just about every out-of-work New Zealand actor that's ever been, has got some sort of part as an extra though :D
Has anyone seen Peter Jackson's early stuff ... he did a whole series of piss funny gore'n'splat movies in the early '90s. Bad Taste, Meet the Feebles, Brain Dead in BRILLIANT stuff! Not very much like Lord of the Rings though ( and highly NOT recommended for children :stongue: ) |

To be honest, I can imagine Tolkien rolling in his grave at the mere mention of an epic trance sound track :D:D:D |

Heh. THose books were the shizit. :D I started off reading the Hobbit.. and reread it like a bazillion times, before I went on to the Fellowship of the Rings. The first book was a drag, I thought.. I couldn't wait to get past all that birthday e. The rest of it was all right, but the Two Towers and Return of the King were much, much better, IMO. I just hope this movie actually translates onto the screen.. I'd hate to see it follow the ways of every other book-movie I've seen. |
