It's actually Mount Charleston, Nevada which is less than an hours drive from Las Vegas in the middle of the desert, which is the precise reason asked where people would think it is as Las Vegas is not known for having 10000 ft mountains at it's doorstep. :D
But anybody visiting the Las Vegas area I highly recommend should visit here, it was REALLY quiet and absolutely beautiful.
