So yesterday two 12 story high rise dorms were imploded at Iowa State University. now that was an amazing site to see! i took a video of it too, if anyone's interested in seeing it.

anyways, i was walking around the site later on in the day and managed to capture these pictures. i honestly think they're some of the best i've taken in a while.

just wondering what anyone thinks of 'em

good shots, and the sun rays in the second photo are nice.

Nice pictures! The last one is awesome.

Would love to see the video of the implosion; big, destroying effects are always cool (as long as they don't kill people). 8)

The construction of the shots seems ok but it's lacking in several areas.

First shot the object in the front is too big of a distraction it being out of focus makes it even more annoying.

Second shot the lighting in the foreground while not being ideally set in your shooting situation it is most certainly lacking! I suggest you commit the deadly sin of doing some curve adjustements on the front.

yet again you deliver some quality material ! good work. Post the vids as well - that might be even sweeter

Was it a residence?

I'd cry if my old residence ever got demolished. I'd at least want a piece of it's wall.

funny you should mention that, they were two dormitories that had been defunct for some time. but they were built in the late 60s and had housed over 40,000 students until just a few years ago when they were shut down.

and afterwards, they took some rubble out and placed it outside the fenced off complex so people could take a piece of the Towers. I got me a piece!
