Ipod/quicktime problem

| hey i have a new ipod which seems determined to have quicktime instaled to my pc (which i hate). Is there any way to use an ipod without using quicktime or some quicktime alternative that anyone knows of? |

there are many uses of an ipod that dont require quicktime:
- fashion accessory
- coaster
- paper weight
- crush pills to powder form
