ok so a little over a week ago i had my freshman registration at UWM where i'm going this fall. I'm majoring in Film so naturally i'm taking a few film classes.
i've been following what my guidance counsilor recommended as classes to take but since EVERY SINGLE math class that didnt conflict with my schedule was full, i am still in need of another class to take to fill my recommended 15 credits.
So far I'm taking a few film courses and psych 101.
soo.. what do you guys recommend as classes i could take to boost my credits or just for fun.
the kayaking classes & rockclimbing classes were full :( |

you know what i hate about registration? all this online bull. god...i just want a ing booklet that i can hold and look through without having to retype my password every two ing seconds because the computer auto logs you out as a safety precaution. jesus h...they did both for a while, but you had to pay for the booklet...i'd even pay for it, but now its not even an option anymore and you have to with the online...
yes i have registration rage hahah :p |

yeah everythings online.. tis ghey. we have a booklet to look through.. two actually, but all this online stuff bugs me. the setup they have here is so complicated. you have to know a specific catalogue number of each individual class.. not course, but class and if its full.. oh try another. i just want to name a course i wanna try.. like philosophy 101 and then they give me a list of classes that ARENT Full and i can choose from that list which one i wanna take based on my schedule. i was the last one out of the registration in my particular area because i went through 2 pages of the booklet to sign up for a math course tht was full on every single try... SO retarded |

i never had registration problems ..
then again, i always registered at 2 am in the morning, where there is the least internet traffic .. :p ..
but i say you don't need to listen to what your counselor says .. you have a full college life to go through .. of course you need your "slacker" courses .. but get some kind of educational courses to enlighten your mind .. might i recommend "advanced linear astrophysics" or "history of women's literature" ?? |

I never had that problem till my final year then you had to get a certain amount of credits, while trying to not pay for so many classes and wasting your ing cash. I nearly lost it my final 2 semesters because I had to take a Saturday Morning class to complete my diploma and then I had to take an online course to complete my major (how lame, never doing it again) |

the freshman blues .. two words .. "seat cards"
go to the professor that is teaching the class you want to take, and ask them to sign a seat card you get at your registrar's office . you don't need to follow whatever it says online .. that's just the "estimated" amount .. if you give your professor a free blow job, he/she will sign the card for you, and you're in .. |

Sounds familiar. I didn't take math last year and this year I really have to if I want to transfer but the fall semister was all full like the first day of registering so I took a music production class and anthropology. Fun classes since I know the profs for both of them.
EDIT: O0O since i was into filmmaking before what i found very interesting not to mention EXTREMELY insightfull and important to our society was a MAss Media course. Definatly take it, it'll open your eyes more or less to the world we live in. |

but how about those easy english common curriculum courses. they sometimes make you read the chessiest books. also i find the chics that take pre-req english their first year are "easy", if you know what i mean .. :stongue: |

I registered for a class called "Writing about TV & Film"
i figure it'll give me a little insight, and Lepanto... all the mass communication, tv, whatever type courses like you're talking about... full. schools with 27,000+ students are ghey like that. I'll keep searching and drop that writing class if i find one that could work :) |

you should definatly give those classes a try next semister if they are open. registering for your freshman semister is always a pain in the ass. when i was regging it was 4 days before the dateline so i had a 4 hour break one day and rooms on different sides of the campus. good luck though |
