10x, late/

People, please enlighten me. Wtf is all this "10x" and "late/" crap about? In the space of 4 weeks everybody seems to be doing it! WHY?! Does "late/" just mean "later"?? It's more effort to type "late/" than "later" isn't it? I mean the "/" is right over the other side of the keyboard.
And "10x"?? What's wrong with just typing "Thanks"? Is it supposed to mean "Thanks ten times" or something? What's the point, if everybody's typing 10x then it loses all meaning.
Please people, from the bottom of my heart, can we stop this madness? Thanks.

i was wondering was 10x means as well...i thought it was 10 times, but 10 times what? now i think it means thanks but i wouldn't pronounce thanks like tenx :conf:
i've only seen people from israel doing that btw |

i always thought they were trying to write "late?" but ddnt press shift properly :stongue: but that sounded wierd, those two terms are indeed very Dale Winton...

and 10x sounds nothing like thanks you twats! stop trying to be cool by trying to type "l33t" or whatever you call it!!! :whip:

Hmmmm, i guess we all have our own ways of saying stuff, i abbreviate a lot of stuff cos (1) it's easier and quicker to type it.
Plus it's also "trendy" or cool to use various forms of slang spesh (2) on message brds(3).
i have seen ppl (4) use 10x and late for a long time on the boards and in chat.
We all do it, i tend to use for example "m8" for mate and "l8r" for later, that type of stuff.
PS. Is this really a serious issue for u (5) Spad & Coup?
PPS. The numbers in brackets that are in various places in this post are there to indicate abbreviations.

| well firsly spad only added me into this coz i was talking to him in chat, but as im here, l8r, m8, all make sense m-eight which sounds like m"ate" it makes sense, 10x? 10x what? and late/? makes no sense at all, what henkie posted, l@a@z, that make sense, coz atleast the @ looks like A, / has no resemblence to R at all, and 10x? 10x what? |
