For the Drinkers (Katrina Aid)

Though a little late, my sister brought home a 6 pack of Abita's Fleur de Lis Restoration Ale today. I'm not sure how widely available it is outside of this state, but for every 6 pack of it that is purchased, the Abita brewery donates a dollar to the disaster relief fund.. sooo, you can get hammered and donate to hurricane relief.

The Abita brewery was pretty much undamaged in the storm, and the Fleur de Lis ale is the first few batches of beer made after the hurricane.

I must say, too, that it's pretty damn good. It tastes similar to Samuel Adams Lager, but just a tad bit darker. It's definitely not as dark as most ales brewed.

But, if you can find it in a store, buy some.. it's worth it for the taste and the cause. Also, aid is given for other merchandise purchased on their website. And, I think it's possible to order the beer from the website as well.

Thanks!
