| no... cold sores develop from the herpes virus... canker sores are completely different. more or less just develop from things like eating irritating foods (too spicy) or not brushing/flossing well enough. |

i got one a few weeks ago from brushing too hard. :( i bought a new travel toothbrush and it was not soft at all, anyway i was brushing brushing brushing, and it scraped my gum so hard that i bled and then got a canker sore 2 days later.

| you know what sucks about herpes? IT NEVER GOES AWAY!! its "latent," so it comes and goes as it pleases. even if you didnt contract it via sexual encounter, its still an STD. and just like all STDs, there is no cure and you will have it forever. sucks for you! |

Also, too much salt like in a margerita, can cause canker sores. |

canker sores =/= cold sores
the one medicine i know of that is specifically designed for canker sores is called "Kanka" |
