A 60year old woman came into the department yesterday....and from falling (just from a standing position) broke ribs on both sides, had a compression fracture in her thoracic spine AND broke her pelvis.
Now people, stay home and eat your cheese.
Osteoporosis....it is so serious
....get after your parents if you care about them and buy them calcium pills for Christmas. :gsmile: |

Even better, get your recommended intake of vitamin D! Vitamin D is what actually helps your bones to absorb and break down calcium so your bones can use it! |

She was in critical condition with the broken back. It really was unbelievable, and a real eye-opener to the disease |

Sorry to hear, but I agree, it's a serious condition that should be looked on more. |

Don't eat too much cheese. high thyramine content. Works as a sympathetic autonomic nervous system agonist, which inhibits Gastrointestinal peristalsis leading to constipation.
milk is good tho. |

It is funny until you xray 10 broken hips a week.....and I swear the chances of recovering from a broken hip (if surgery is required), is slim to none. I look at the poor bastard on the table and say...."you gonna die." |
