i went with my parents! wtf you sayin its not a party place? are you kidding me? it may not be acapulco or ibiza, but if you like to drink and dance with the opposite sex at wee hours of the morning, then cancun is a pretty damn good place. being that i went over 3 years ago with my parents, i couldnt tell you where to go- but considering that its a spit of sand in the carribbean ocean it wont be hard to find . if you feel like not drinking one day i suggest visiting some mayan ruins, theyre the ! late/

Yes, Cancun is fun, but I find it to be too Americanized.. therefore, for something different and awesome - go to Puerto Vallarta or California Baja. It's amazing. It's very chilling during the day, lots of volleyball, swimming, tanning, eating coconut and relaxing...... and partying on the beaches and open-bar clubs all night. Not much trance there, but you can survive, just bring your CDs to listen while during the day.

Cancun is off the hook.

Be prepared to go crazy down there...the environment makes you wanna.

Just some advice though, be prepared to be hit on alot, and this time of year expect alot of degrading contests at the clubs. The guys are all after action, so too are the ladies but if its not your thing, just be forewarned.

If you want to hear alot of trance, and if other types of music bug you, then stick with Dady O on certain nights and definitely hit LaBoom. La Boom was my fave place the first time I went to Cancun. The second time I went the place was dead, but we went in September so everything was slow...

Here are some other places....

Christines: Upscale type of look, mix of music from ol'school hip hop, euro dance, r&B, rock, etc. Cool atmosphere, only good certain nites (ladies nites are good)

La Boom: Awesome place....two rooms-Dance & Urban. Urban side is mostly hip-hop with some R&B. Its not bad to take a break in...the other room plays some trance and house. Early in the night will often play what many here consider cheeze but I consider danceable music so its good. If you stick around pretty late (you will want to) they will play more harder trance and some house

Coco-Bongos: The place is by far the craziest place but the music is really not all that. It is a good time regardless....if you are really into your music than you might be disappointed but I suggest you get over your likes and dislikes because this place really is a crazy party. Be prepared to hear some really old radio pop songs these guys are behind. Also, I guarantee they will play Who Let the Dogs Out and Follow the Leader at least 3 times in the night. At least...but nevertheless crazy crazy place. I suggest if you go with your girlfriends to be VERY CAREFUL. Some desperate dudes go and assist themselves with certain drugs to get girls. I would make sure that you always have a friend with you so that you guys can watch each other. I saw first hand in Puerto Vallarta a few weeks ago, a girl I later became friends with, was drugged by a piece of parasite. The girls split up at the time...so just be careful. The reason I bring that up is because someone accidentally put something in my drink when I was here. Watch your drinks. I had one beer, and then went up for mixed drinks, the bar was packed and a few minutes later I started blacking out. I grabbed my buddy and told him I wasn't going to make it so he dragged me to the bathroom, where I stayed for about an hour. Again be careful!

Dady-O: Cool light show...sometimes they play some cool trance and house, but often play some pop or hip-hop to fill the floors. Very dungeon like, I did not like it.

Up&Down: Club witthin the Oasis hotel...usually has a foam party every Thursday. I know everybody gets excited, foam party it will be crazy. I hated it each time I went...it sucks cos you gotta dress down ie. sandals or flipflops and bathing suit or whatever ty tshirts etc. you got. If you lose a flip flop in the foam, good luck. Therefore you will not dance really...not have fun. The foam stings your eyes its industrial grade laundry detergent...and lots more drunk dudes than ladies here so expect alot of urine in the foam given the bathroom always had lineups....just so you know. I stopped going into the foam when I overheard one dude bragging to his buddy that he was pissing as he walked thru the foam. Now you know...

Fat Tuesday: Mardi Gras theme. You may get beads...the party isn't all that crazy though. Music is mixed and the drinks are damn strong. Not a bad place but we kept going to CocoBongos and LaBoom...but thats us...

Carlos O'Brians & Senior Frogs: Same management, same type of party. More bar like sort of like a wild party happening. Good place to if the girls are not all up for going out (ie sick from night before, sunstroke etc.) because the places close early like 2:30 am. Dingy place, make sure you go to the can at the hotel before you go out the lineups for thebathroom are long and the cans are dirty. The Yardstick is overrated...they have this plastic container they sell where you buy a drink and they fill this container...its like 20 inches long and cone shaped at either end...holds like 3.5 drinks...overrated though...your drink gets piss warm very quickly (since they do not refrigerate drinks in Mexico-PV or Cancun, fahkers)
and if you do the math it doesn't save you any money to buy in bulk (my buds get pissed when I do calculations in my head but hey I am an accountant...sorry)

Anyways have a good time, if you got questions feel free to ask.

yeah you could say 'goto Puerto Vallarta' but then you have the opposite. its not 'Americanized' more like 'Canadianized' if there is such a thing. its still Mexico, and not as American as Cancun, but if you head there everyone hates the Canadians for being cheap and doesnt really give a about Americans...oh wait! the place to be in Mexico is really Acapulco tho/

btw Lazgti- how was PV?
Excite
La Boom is the best place for electronic music..Dadyo's is a good Mexican yuppie club as well. You can't go wrong with either club but if u want to get into Dadyo's in the peak months try to go early.

and if u want some good herb to smoke with that just ask the taxi drivers. :D
QuickStep
I went there three years straight (junior, senior, and freshman college years). It is something for stories. Every year was an experience.

Have fun and don't forget to bring alot of these:

So true Biz so true...

PV was good man. It wasn't Cancun...for a few reasons...the clubs were really not my type of place in PV but generally still OK. The crowd I was with, the atmosphere there and the mindset I had changed the whole feel of the trip. I have matured alot over the past few years where as my buddies have not changed...also the guys I went with did not include the buddies that are more fun. The guys I went with judge how good a time they are having by the number of girls they pick up/make out with/ get back to the hotel. In fact they are more notorious for that now then they were when we were at university...which was a huge disappointment. I am a bit shy and introverted but when I loosen up I can have fun without getting busy with some chick I don't know...maybe too conservative but oh well...

Bro...the sun is fahking hot in PV! I burned to a crisp and I got serious dehydration and sun stroke. Also, you guessed it the food fahked me up, combined with lack of drinkable water (I didn't trust the hotel water...stupid me) so I became quite ill...oh well...

I'll PM you details...

PS BTW saw your pick in the TA photo page...dude you look almost how I pictured you based on your posts and mannerisms!

Cheers,
Eugene
Yes, I've been there.
However, despite all the hype, there isn't really a lot to do in the resorts around Cancun.
Unless, of course, you and your friends know exactly where the action is ;)

Hey Eugene...you are right...not much to do...I pretty much relaxed all day...I am one of the few who can sit or lie down all day if given the opportunity and would not think twice about it...hehe...

I was never hung over myself man...I got hammered only one time...

It kinda disappointed me because I went with all intentions to get hammered and have a fun time. I guess I am just too old now...I can't handle the booze anymore...my stomach killed me everytime I tried to drink up, plus I had that gastrointestinal distress problem to deal with...I wasn't sure if Vodka & Sprite mixed well with Immodium...hahaha:eek:
