New here.
Would like to share with everyone our newest addition to our family. We now have 6 female rats living with us. This is a new baby girl that has been at our home for a week now. She named her Sasha after DJ Sasha. Her official breed is berkshire double rex hairless rat.
She's a hairless, but she has peach fuzz all over, which she will loose some as she gets older. She is black all over, but has a white belly and white feet. The tip of her tail is also white. She is very sweet and loves to sleep in my arms.
On her first night home, she met our dogs, which she liked. (All of our rats love our dogs, a couple even play and groom them) Sasha fell asleep in one of my dog's fur.
She's starting to give kisses and show signs of affection.
Hope you enjoy the pics!

Rats are probably a lot cleaner than dogs. |

LOL...I expect that from some. let me shed some light....
Rats are great pets! I know many people that have pet rats, and many that own ratteries, they breed special pedigree rats. There are even rat shows for special breeds.
These aren't your typical wild rats, no way! These are domesticated, bred and hand raised with the intent of being pets.
Some people are grossed out because they think of the wild disease-infested rats. But odd that people aren't grossed out by hamsters, gerbils, ferrets or any other rodent-like pet. There are many people that love to pet my rats and hold them. I have an adult black and white (yes, she has hair) that gives kisses to strangers on their faces. People get a kick out of them.
They are extremely smart, very sweet and affectionate. And I've owned rats for many many years, and have never been bitten, ever. They are definately growing in popularity in the USA for pets. I guarantee them to be a perfect pet for anyone. |
