Nope- your laptop should have come with its own key though... |

no dumbass
do some googling around.
since xp has been M$ has put all these anti piracy measures in their OS.
You could install it on more than one by doing some "hacking" |

I'm pretty sure the key im using now is used by thousands of other people. It's also verified by Microsoft to be real. cracks are fun :gsmile: |

If you happen to have a laptop that came with a pre-installed version of Windows, and the "reinstall"/restore media will have all the crap (that you don't want) on it, you can find an ISO (CD image) of the version you have (Media Center, Home, Pro, etc.), use the key that came with it (since the key on the laptop is OEM), and after installation, change it to the key that came with your computer.
Perhaps it only works with Windows XP Pro. Here's Microsoft's key changer: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?Lin...346&clcid=0x409
And the forum with a bit of discussion regarding this:

I've used this method on a friend's computer. You could also google and find jellybean magic key finder or something to verify the key is actually changed. |

you can get a stripped down corporate copy that will work just fine but you'll have to use http://windowsupdate.62nds.com/ to download and install updates to get around their "genuine key" bs. ;)
if you want i can even upload an iso image of one for ya. |

Or just use a normal corporate copy with a key that works. |
