Going to NYC for just a day - must-dos/sees?

I'm going to New York on 7 June for a Who Wants to Be a Millionaire audition at the ABC Building [67th St] (only 10 minutes - I hope I do well on the short test this time) and I was wondering what would be a good way to spend the day 'wisely', being that I'll be there for roughly 14 hours. In other words, I'd like a good order of progression through the city (I'll be arriving in Lower Manhattan, Chinatown actually).

I'm an electronics, computer, culture, music, & video game buff. I'm also a fan of 'retro' things. What's the best place to find import/grey-market electronics? I can't eat at a five-star place, but somewhere nice with a good variety of Asian (including Indian) food would be nice.

I'll be going alone.

Thanks and hope for some nice recommendations. I just don't want to waste a lot of time just getting to each location there. :-)

PS: Last time I was there was 1999-06-04.

Meredith Viera, lol.

"The View" sketches from the mid 90's on SNL were so clutch.

If I was going to nyc for just a day I'd probably find kid nyc and just blaze and hit the subway, walk around.

I knew someone was going to say something like that. Of course I can't do everything possible in 14 hours. It's just not possible. I've done some homework on WikiTravel & similar places, though the Wiki sites are very new (and therefore, still need a lot of content).
