well i certainly CANT explain EVERYTHING here. the US military is bomb happy and tends to miss alot. i dont know why or how it happened - it certainly shouldnt have. the amazing thing is that we havent killed any of our own soldiers yet.

as for detroit, i think the booing has to do with Detroit in particular, not the US. Detroit considers itself 'hockeytown' and since thats falling apart quickly, it could transfer that aggression to another sport. it also has issues with people choosing to go across the border, into Windsor, to spend their hard earned money on gambling and drinking(19). Detroit is ghetto- dont for get that/
SpykeChyld
^^^What he said about the bombing thing.

But I think some of the booing has to do with the fact that it was Canada. Americans (especially the males (sports)) are not usually very fond of the French and the Canadians. I dunno why. Read Maxim, there are at least 5 jokes per issue about Canada & France. Watch "The Man Show". At least 2 jokes per episode. I think Canada is thrown in just cus of it's French background, but I dunno why Americans hate Fance or Canada! lol.

Anyway, I'm not meaning any dis respect myself. I have nothing against anyone. I'm just informing :D

Nothing is cool about war, but I must say that the United States has a damn good military and does a great job of not hitting civilians, innocents, or allies. Mistakes are made in war, but I think the US doesn't make many (compared to any other Army involved in a conflict).

Our freedom is at stake here (yes Canadian's too) and people like you guys that give into the media anti-US hype are going to cause more people to die then those pilots who made that bombing mistake. Look, if it wasn't for those pilots dropping bombs right now, you probably wouldn't be able to go clubbing for fear of a suicide bombing, anthrax, or worse, lack of money due to a crushed economy.

Same thing for Isreal. You have every right to defend yourselves just as the US should defend itself.

ouch:eek:

well.....it's always fun to make fun and joke around about Canada/Canadians and the high tax rates.....but that's about the only thing we joke around that has to do with Canada. Also, never any harm intended. one of my friends here is Canadian:)

have no idea why they would boo the Canadian anthem...seems pretty ridiculous to me, and a great sign of disrespect indeed.:(

sothis
god threads like this make me sick.

what response do you want out of americans? "YES. WE DID IT ON PURPOSE. WE WANTED TO BOMB YOU CANADIANS. HA HA." or maybe "I'M SORRY. IM AN AMERICAN AND I PERSONALLY WANT TO APOLOGIZE TO CANADA ON BEHALF OF MY COUNTRY". i mean, come on. we arent the military so how could you possibly think for a second that any of us could explain it... the whole premise of this thread sounds like trying to guilt trip americans into whatever.

ok, how about the respect of canadians in vancouver when washington cars are targeted and vandalized/broken into.. (this is common knowledge btw in washington AND british columbia).

how about the other way around, how about canadians who bash americans every single day? how about that my radio is set to a canadian station (since im so near the border) for my alarm and i hear american bashing when i wake up every day? you think canadians dont talk americans? you call that classy, tho americans doing it isnt?

like i said, these kind of threads make me sick. even tho i deal with bull sometimes because of canadians, it doesnt make me bash their country or canadians as a people. and lots of canadians feel the same way about americans or dont make judgements also. its stupid ignorant heads with zero sense of tolerance who always have to bash other countries and find faults with them. people are people, humans are humans, not a label of what country they are from.

and people like you are helping zero by starting threads which propogate this kind of hate. because we all know whats going to happen.. people are gonna bash americans, americans are gonna stick up for themselves even tho theres nothing to stick up for, etc.

This is probably the most unintelligent statement i have ever read in my life!

And about your military "not hitting civilians, innocents or allies"
thats a bunch of bull e! Remember that basement in Iraq that protected almost 300 INNOCENT civilians who were hiding from the war.... and your "Damn good military" "accidentally bombed and killed everyone in there with their laser guiding bomb, thinking it was a military station  or how about all those (almost 30,000) Guatemalans who were slaughtered during the eighties by your army... Oh I forgot.. your nation doesnt mediate these autrocites!! And lets not forget the other 200,000 iraqi civilians, vietnamese, and Rawandans too. Now do these look like mistakes to you?

It was obvious that the U.S didnt bomb our canadian soldiers intentionally... but you must understand that seeing your army as "damn good" is far from the truth.

And with isreal..... i wont even begin with that murderous and filthy state. Just read what has happened in Jenin.....and NOT from CNN.
But hey.. this is just me and the rest of the worlds opinion about you guys... so who cares right?

im glad Cyrus King DOES know what hes talking bout, thanx for that reply, i wouldnt have pulled it off that nicely

sothis
and my point of where this thread would be headed has just been proven with cyrus's reply.

let me again state:

i really hope this thread defuses before it turns into canadian vs american fest. please. stop.

I think it won't become a ANTI-(anything) thread... or Canada vs America thread either. I understand your argument SOTHIS... however, we're not talking about the everyday "dissing" that occurs between Canadians and Americans. The problem I've found with many americans (not all, because so many are amazing individuals)is that they DO NOT seem to know when to draw the line between friendly sports competition & the reality of life. I mean c'mon!!! the booing of the Canadian national anthem?? the sad thing is that it's not the first or last time this will happen. The americans have always had difficulty showing respect for all other nations PERIOD. It may, in reality, have to do with the history of the USA in general...and their anger, fight, and dislike towards Britain, Canada, and the rest of the world as a whole. It's been their "Us against the world" mentality that has gotten a bit out of hand.

I for one do not expect and appology from anyone here for what happend in the war, or what happend at the game. I think he just wanted to stimulate thought and a response from the rest of the TA's.

Why is it that the Americans do this?
