Rare $600,000 Ford Falcon stolen from auto workshop

POLICE are seeking witnesses to the theft of a unique $600,000 Falcon Sedan from an auto repair workshop in Collingwood St, Osborne Park.

The car, which is a red 1971 Phase III GT HO Falcon Sedan registration number 71 HO, is valued in excess of $600,000 and is a unique collector’s item within Australia.

The car also has distinctive 15-inch Bathurst Globe mag wheels.

Overnight on Monday 5 November 2007, unknown offenders gained entry to J & M Caporale Auto Body Repairs by forcing the padlock on the front gates and the office doors to the premises.

Once inside, the offenders moved a number of vehicles in order to gain access to the car. These vehicles were driven out through the front roller doors which face onto Collingwood Street, and parked down the side of the premises.

These include a Rolls Royce Stretch Limousine, a late model Holden GTS Monaro valued at $100,000 and a Honda Odyssey.

They have also moved a forklift that was parked against the roller door, and pushed a second Rolls Royce away to gain access to the targeted car.

Car thieves are scum, and these guys obviously knew there was a GTHO there. Must have been hard to move Rollers and a GTS out of the way though :wtf:

For overseas people GTHO's are legendary in Australia, when they were released they were the fastest 4 door in the world.

Good luck selling it too, they're as rare as hens teeth.

Well they can't really sell it as it's VIN is what makes it worth the money, the rest of the car you could probably find down at the wreckers for about 2% of the GTHO's total value.

I hope it gets driven off a cliff.

They're sort of like a Camaro, goes fast in straight line, brakes fail, falls off corner, catches fire...

No, its a Ford.
The fact that it's still able to turn over without drowning in its own oil and occasionally move under it's own power makes it unique.
