Right now I got 2645 taking up 8.1 days, and 15.17 Gigs. I gotta admit tho that on a regular basis I listen to about less than 1/4 of it. There is def a comfort in knowing I could listen to all the other I have but usually wont.. I actually do not get to listen to music that much just cause I dont have time, but since im on vacation from school ive mostly been sitting around blazing and listenin to all the I usually dont have time 2 listen to for hours and hours and hours, its great but all good things must end I guess. If something were to happen to my MacBook I dunno wtf I would do because it took a while to collect all this music. I have thought about the situation theoretically and cannot imagine wtf I would do, but a part of me inside would for sure die. Raising this library has been like raising a child. Im considering getting an external harddrive and just putting all that crap onto it, has n e 1 done this, or in general feel the same way about their music library as I do? alright thanks. N e way, just post about how many songs u have on ur itunes, and in general your feelings about your library.

I don't have itunes, but I know I used to have months of songs when I had my livesets included

I back mine up to two different locations weekly, I've put literally thousands of hours of work into it, to lose it would be like losing a friend.

itunes is piss; try renaming all your files and tags manually as I have, it's such a pain.

Some screenshots of my collection here.

Currently up over 360 artists, and growing by 5 or so each day.

why would you rename all your tags manually..?
and you have time to actually listen through 5 artists a day?

I had about 5000 illegal mp3s in a folder, and for the past year or so I've been buying them all.

Hence, I already know every track I buy. At the same time though, I'm still trying to buy new tracks and keep up with stuff. It's hard.

My /mp3 folder contains 198 files (mostly from ripped CDs and beatport), for a total of 3.07gb.

Quality > quantity

My current "to get" list contains:

8 albums
27 mp3s
BTG
0.

x2

I don't mind iPod devices themselves, but I refuse to buy one based simply on the fact that they want you to use iTunes.

1429 items, 19.7 days, 46.20 GB

which is probably totally inaccurate since i'm on my work computer. i usually add stuff to iTunes, listen to it, then eventually delete it off my hard drive after i transfer it to my iPod or thumb drive so that i can transfer it to my computer at home (if it's worth keeping around).
