so the official 2008 parties start in june, but i get a lot of holidays in the first 2 weeks of may... so i was wondering if it is worth going there? Im worried that most the clubs would be closed, but it should be warm enough. arggh why cant there be a 24/7/365 true tropical party island somewhere in the world....or is there?? |

the island itself is warming up from april, through may. Was on the neighbouring island, Mallorca in 2001 & we had a heatwave, temps of 29-32c most days. Average is low 20s. Clubs probably won't be open either but the island has more than that, so should you have any sort of interest in it away from the people pissing & puking everywhere, the tourists from america, asia and australia being omgiminibiza!!!!oneoneone and such, you'd find a lovely island to explore ;) |

I bet you could get a good hotel rate in may as most people won't be there then. |

Yeah, pretty much. The island isn't really special enough to visit for it's own merits, without the insane clublife to make things, well, 'interesting.' |

I was there for a month, so I explored quite a bit actually. Don't get me wrong, it's a really nice island, but the tourism has destroyed a lot of it's natural charm, so I really didn't find it to be that special.
But yeah, Formentera is pretty nice. |

oh yeah, menorca & formentera are the only 2 largely unspoilt balearics, but even Mallorca & Ibiza have nice things to see out of season. Sadly they've been spoiled beyond recognition for a quick buck, so many of us won't get to see how nice they were 40 yrs ago |
