Half of UK men would swap sex for 50 inch TV

Nearly half of British men surveyed would give up sex for six months in return for a 50-inch plasma TV, a survey -- perhaps unsurprisingly carried out for a firm selling televisions -- said on Friday.
Electrical retailer Comet surveyed 2,000 Britons, asking them what they would give up for a large television, one of the latest consumer "must-haves".
The firm found 47 percent of men would give up sex for half a year, compared to just over a third of women.
"It seems that size really does matter more for men than women," the firm said.
A quarter of people said they would give up smoking, with roughly the same proportion willing to give up chocolate.

| I suppose it depends on how your sex-life is to begin with. I mean if you're a 60 year old man with wife who's 80lbs overweight, sagging in all the wrong places, and only gives it up once a month or so and then only missionary.... six month's without sex isn't that bad. My guess is it's situations like this that lead 50% of brits to choose TV over sex... let's face it, not all British women look like Stace, many are more like Margret Thatcher. |

| I'd give it up if I was broke and had no other way to get one other than smash and grab. Thankfully, I gets plenty of sex while I'm watching my 50" I payed for :D |

on the downside, you should've said it as "paid" not "payed" so that automatically renders you useless to women for 6 months. Might as well get a new tv :p |

| I too am one of the 50% that would not give up sex for a TV no matter how damn big the thing is, most channels broadcast purile drivel, i certainly don't want it magnified as well. |
