laundromats

is it just me, or are laundromats a breeding ground for weird ?

the one i went to back when i was living in NY had clown pictures plastered all over the walls. i went there maybe two times before i decided it was worth it to drive back across the river to my mom's house and do laundry there instead.

my current apartment doesn't have laundry (this is a first for me in years) so i go to a laundromat about 2 blocks away. i've seen a crackhead couple smoking cigarettes while their baby sits and cries in a stroller, one guy threatening the owner because the machine stole his change, visit from the cops on numerous occasions, drunk bums sitting and watching prime-time TV... the list goes on.

i actually don't mind it because it's entertaining, but i feel like my clothes are only getting dirtier.

That's prime time on its own.

As long as you don't see someone wearing your clothes or trying to sell you your own clothes, it's all good.

There's this one by me that always has this same drunk guy sitting out front. He always yells at random people on the sidewalk.

Haha I love the landromat.

They always remind me of stephen king's 'roadwork'.

I have no idea. :conf:

Maybe the fact that it was the first book I ever finished, so it kinda stuck with me.

Last time I was close to a laundromat, I was staying at some hotel... there were a bunch of bums laying around, so I dared one to beat the out of another sleeping bum for $5 and he did. best $5 I ever spent. Those guys faught for a good 2 minutes, lol.
