new to iPodding. had never had an mp3 before. (i'm one of those DJs who was diehard on vinyl before going to CD.... and was diehard with burning CDs before finally turning to an mp3 player...)
so yeah. got a 1st gen iPod Touch, 16gb.
why is it when sometimes i throw an album on it, complete with album art, the artwork wont show up on the ipod?
or sometimes, it'll only show when certain tracks play? this bothers me. |

the ipod cannot read all image file types, or audio for that matter. |

That's happened to me before..
There are two ways to fix this.
1. If you use itunes to manage the music, right click on the album and click download album artwork. If that doesn't work then try #2
2. If artwork isn't displaying on all of the songs, then I just select all of the songs in itunes and right click and go to the 'show info' window (should be top selection) and go to the info tab. There should be a blank box entitled "artwork". Just find the artwork online and drag it into that box and click ok. Then resend the music to your ipod. If you don't use itunes then just use winamp/whatever other software you use and manually upload the artwork to each file. |

That's not what I was saying...The torrents u are downloading probably have images that are in a file type that the ipod cannot read. Use iTunes to grab the artwork instead or try another source for the images...like what he said above. |

This is the way to go. #1 won't work unless you have the artist and album title exactly the way iTunes likes it, so I tend to just use #2 to be sure. |

Do iPods read mp3s? Or do you still have to convert everything using itunes? |

i used to be slightly annoyed then realized in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter. haven't found a way to fix it and i'm on my fourth ipod. |

for me the upgrade from itunes 7.x to 8.0 made some of my audio files' artwork randomly disappear. does the artwork display properly through itunes, or does it not display on both? |
