I just sat it today on a bit of a whim.. I don't realy know much about the scoring system and can't be bothered delving into it. Hoping one of hte smart cookies here could give me a quick answer.. I somehow managed to get a pretty good unofficial score. Anyone know whether this is likely to change once it's made "official"? Are my marks for the written component, once that gets assessed, likely to effect it? |

depends, you took it in the regulated time right? if so and you did well the score shouldn't change too much when it is official. if you took it on a whim and did not mimick the official test environment i would say the score will change. when i did practice tests section by section i always did much better since i wasn't doing it all at once. its a different story when you are in a room for x period of time doing the whole thing.
as for the essay it doesn't change your score but some schools elect to read them and others don't. |

heheh you give me too much credit it wasn't a practice. I took the actual test, booked it in a few days earlier and everything. They printed off an unofficial result after I finished and said the "official" results would arrive in 20 days... Apparently computers mark the whole thing so i don't know why it takes so long :conf:
PS - if anyone's planning to sit it in Melbourne don't go to the testing centre in South Melbourne. There were two s standing right outside the door going on really loudly about their golf game.. so much for exam conditions! |

the official results will come with your writing score. other than that, your unofficial score will most likely be your official score. |

heheh I know.. I have a problem accepting compliments. It's part of that self-deprecating charm that gets me absolutely nowhere with women. |

Took it. Made the required score for the local university but never went on to get my master's. Such is life. |
