Setting up a Podcast

Hey guys, I'm looking for advice on what is the best way to set up a Podcast for free. I've been looking into several popular solutions like Libsyn and Podomatic but they both charge for bandwidth and hosting which I really don't need since I'll be hosting the files on another server.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

i have used mypodcast.com before its ok but not amazing. but like u said its free which is a plus :)

Thanks man, does it let you host your files in an external server instead of using theirs?

Yeah, I looked into that one but it only has 800MB of storage and a monthly bandwidth of 5GB. I'm kind of expecting a lot of traffic so I don't think that would be the best solution. :(

But thanks for replying

Just find one of those cheap over sold hosting places and then write the podcast xml file yourself.

Podcast = XML playlist + mp3 file... its not rocket science.

I know, but it's really not THAT simple to write the xml file.

Thanks man, I had already seen that one but it's kind of a pain in the ass because you have to update it manually every time you add a new file. There are sites that take care of this automatically...all you have to do is upload the file and not worry about anything else. The only thing I need is a site that lets me use my own server and bandwidth. ;)

Look for some sort of script you can deploy yourself then on your own server, or an application that can run on your computer to generate the file for upload.

I Googled "Podcast generator" and got this: http://podcastgen.sourceforge.net/
