windows help - re: folder order

I've had this happen a few years ago and forgot how i fixed it. For some reason when I now try to open a folder, eg on winamp, the files are in some random order. I've been into folder options and set all to default and hate having to right click & sort by filename. Any ideas what i've done wrong?

cheers guys

Delete Windows/System32.

No, seriously, I think many people have this problem, but there isn't a very well known fix. Try this.

we had this problem at work.. it was something daft like.. you need to go to your folder properties, set the folder setup back to the configuration you want.. and then when you click 'apply' hold down your ctrl key, or click 'apply' with your right mouse button or something.. then it sets the config you selected as default.

its really just something daft liek that.. so its really easy to accidentally mis-click or something when your doing something and set the folder config to some gay default

EDIT: or perhaps try this... http://www.logicaltips.com/LPMArticle.asp?ID=508
