My wife however wants to caress and cuddle and care for me when I am sick which in turn means I have to do that for her when she is sick.

You want someone to be around to ask you if you need anything, so that you can tell them that you want some food. Then this person should make/go out and get you the food that you want.
You want to be alone in the room, but not alone in the house? |

By left alone I mean not bothered/cuddled/talked to. I can deal with it for the amount of time it takes to drop some food off. |
