Well tried it now first time to get some other pachtes into my "virus C".
But Now I don't get it how to get the sounds to my virus. All those Soundsets contain "mid.-files" but which I can not get into my ableton lines. It just won't accept it. So I guess I m doing something wrong?

thanks for ya help....

I would say look at your manual for this one. I do't own the hardware version so can't tell you how to do it. but I would say you would have to overwrite one of your banks

pretty sure you just direct it to your hardware via the sequencer and add the midi to that channel. Done.

googled your question and found this..

Drop the midi file in:

Library > Application Support > Access Music > Virus TI (or C in your case) > Patches

Hope this helps

its from infekted.org unofficial access virus site

This is for mac so im guessing 4 pc you change library for my documents, but in the post i was looking at it also says pretty much what m4b says

Check the manual. You might have to put the Virus into read mode. Then it's as straightforward as playing the MIDI file in your sequencer (make sure it's sending to the Virus' IN channel). It's best to have it connected directly, rather than daisy-chained. You may well need to have the Virus' MIDI OUT also connected to your computer's MIDI IN, to create a full MIDI loop.

You could also use SoundDiver, if you got the CD with your Virus. But playing the MIDI file is fine (you won't hear anything), I've uploaded plenty of patches to my Virus KC that way. I generally play them around 120bpm, which has worked fine. I don't know how much of a difference it makes, but I'd imagine you wouldn't want to jack the speed up heaps, the Virus may not keep up. In any case, it's a very quick process anyway.

As far as I know, Ableton Live filters out midi sysex messages which is needed for this kind of thing. You either have to use a sequencer that supports sysex or something like Midi-Ox for Windows or Sysex Librarian for Mac (I use this one myself and it's really easy to use).

The Virus receives the data automatically, but I'd double check the "Midi Dump RX" page to see that it's going to the bank you want it to go to. Also, if you want to backup certain presets or banks, those programs I mentioned can record sysex as well. Check out "Midi Dump TX" in the manual for detail on how to do that.

Oops, I didn't read the bit about Live not loading the .mid files in fully. It works fine in Cubase.

I always used MIDI-Ox when I had my earlier (pre-TI) Viruses.
