I'm effin tired of feeling like as a dj I'm invisible. WTF does it effin take? I put out good mixes. I have fun doing it, I enjoy making them available to my friends, and my friends don't even listen. Why? Do they just not care about someone whose name isn't Guetta or Tiesto? Or whoever? I've been doing this for 10 years. Played all over the US and since I've been in the ATL, I'd consider it all to be over with. Not my love for it, but the recognition I got for dropping some hot ass tracks. I venture out and start producing because fundamentally that I think is the next step and granted, some of my tracks aren't very good, but some of em are. Like: Harder Better Stronger Faster by DJRYAN™ That's a remix I did. I didn't even know what the hell I was doing. Just cut the accapella, and sequenced it in Reason and added some drums. I think it sounds alright. Yet nothing. I did this one too: Intelligent Design by DJRYAN™ And nothing.. So I swing back over to the djing side of things. Create a mix that aint all mixing the 1/4 into the 4/4th and noones even llstened. Grrr.. Here's one that I did in one night and I think it showed tremendous progress. I think I'm starting to get the hang of it and gaining the control necessary in order to produce good tracks and I still feel like I'm being ignored. I have fun doing it, and I'm not posting this thread for attention. I know there has to be other dj's there that want to play for more than just themselves. I mean, I still love it and I will never quit but sometimes it just seems like its become a "singular" hobby when for the longest time people actually enjoyed hearing me play.
