So yesterday, while drnking with a friend, we discussed the revolution in Egypt and how we totally need a similar revolution in Germany to throw all those useless, stupid politicians out. During this discussion I invented a brilliant new form of government which must replace our ty "democracy" after the revolution. For lack of a better word I shall call it Randomocracy or Meatism.
The idea is based on the Peter Principle, which says that people are promoted to higher / more powerful positions until they reach one where they suck (surely true for politics, where promotion is based on rhetorics/lying and popularity instead of skill) and this paper. It states and proves that if the Peter Principle applies, random promotion is a better strategy than promoting the best employee.
So my idea is this: the government is formed by a number of representatives that are split into different work-groups, like one for economy, taxes, education, security and so on. Decisions are either taken by the work groups (something like 5-10 people) or all representatives. But those people are not elected. They are chosen at random. If you fulfill certain criteria for a workgroup (corresponding university degree and certain relevant work experience, other skills etc) you can apply for a pool from which the representatives are randomly selected every four years.
On average this system should yield better governments that the current one, as the only factors are relevant skills and luck. No more lying, making the biggest promise or trying to please your voters with ty decisions. No more lobbyism or media campaigns, as they can't influence anything.
Now obviously there's a reason this is in the c0r and not PDD, but I'm all for the revolution. Who's joining me?

Now I only need a way to spread my brilliant idea around. Usually people write books, but should I write a theoretical work (like Marx) or present the idea in some fictional novel? |
