What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be an astronaut. But, I am noticing that a lot of my students no longer have the desire to do anything with their lives, by the fourth grade! I had a student tell me that he wanted to be an accountant the other day, I almost cried. |

I wanted to be a Janitor or Garbage Man.
Even as a kid I could identify the jobs no one else wanted to do, and I'm a big fan of job security :p |

I wanted to be an astronaut in grade 2.
Everybody told me all the years of hard work and school that would be required for me to do so...
so i just gave up in live at the tender age of 8.
now i drive a forklift. |

ha, yeah. I think everyone sort of gives up on the fireman, policeman, teacher dream when they realize how little public service pays.
I actually wanted to open up a pizza hut on Mars. Because, I could be an astronaut and eat pizza all day. I'd tried that freeze dried food and hated it.
I still want to learn to fly! I have a savings account dedicated to saving up for flying lessons right now. :p I just don't want to add more studies to the schedule right now. |

| same with astronauts and hearing about how much math is required. That kills most child's dreams for that. |

| I got the impression that everyone (including myself) wanted to be a marine biologist when we were kids. It wasn't until years later that I realized I formed this belief after asking like three people. |
