A former Griffin high school teacher's aide turned herself in to police today for the second time on child molestation charges
Lauren Summers, 21, is being charged with 22 additional counts of child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes.
She is accused of having at least 12 sexual encounters with two 14-year-old students. Authorities said she also had relations with five other male students over 16 years old, but would not be charged in those cases because of the students' ages.
The incidents allegedly took place beginning in May and continued through the summer at Summers home or the homes of the boys.
She faces five to 20 years in jail on each charge, if convicted.
"She was always talking about her church," said Scotty Bowles, a sophomore at Spalding High School. He said other male students said they wish that they, too, had had relations with Summers.
Dr. Jesse Bradley, Spalding County Sschools superintendent, said no disciplinary action is planned against the students since the alleged incidents occurred off-campus.
Last week, Summers was charged in connection with one alleged sexual encounter with one youth. She was first released on bond last week on the original molestation charges.
She has denied the charges, but has resigned her aide's job at Spalding High School. Summers worked as a special education teacher and as an assistant soccer coach. Her father teaches an advanced placement class at the same school.
Police initiated their investigation after parents told them of their suspicions.

| i can see why they would be happy about the 14 year olds... but a 21 year old with boys over 16? besides the legality issue, i dont see a big issue with that... they could have been 18 year olds.. thats not much of an age difference at all! |
