It was a rocking night...
here was the lineup:
*Synthetic
*Glaude's Manager (yes he spins, he's damn good, and he looks JUST like BT, (who i thought it was at first...)
*Bad Boy Bill
*Donald Glaude
it was a rocking night... Synthetic played a great set, mostly prog. house and tech house just b/c of the event that night... after much barrading, i convinced him to drop a couple of trance tracks at the end of his set, which he did, and unfortunately the crowd just seemed to die... I've never in my life seen so many people stand STILL during Svenson & Gielen - Twisted.... it was like there wasn't any music playing. I learned a valuable lesson - that no matter what you like to spin, you absolutely HAVE to stick to the demographic of the attendees.... (i thought ONE track wouldn't hurt!) They did seem to dig lethal industry though...
Glaude's manager was bad-ass! he came on and everyone thought he was bad boy bill or something i guess, b/c everyone crowded the booth, standing on the platforms and yelling with their arms in the air... nobody knew who the this guy was though.
Bad Boy Bill was pretty damn good - not nearly as radical as he used to be.... he only scratched twice, and the second time sounded real good, then when he stopped the record kept playing the exact same sounds that appeared when he was scratching!!! (which really was quite UN-impressive!)
has anyone noticed how much Bad Boy Bill and Johan Gielen look EXACTLY the same in the face?
Donald Glaude came on and i tell you what, he was 100% high energy! i love this guy... great show (my first time seeing him live). funny though, b/c when he first gets up there, he looks like a homeless guy! (his hair grown out, all disheveled-looking, not-so-nice outfit), but man he jumps around crazy, waving vinyls in the air and what-not.... great show.
My greatest thanks to synthetic for hooking me up VIP and the like... and don't underestimate synthetic - he's damn good.

now, if i wanted a DJ name, i'd probably pick:

| ABT, about the Twisted thing, with all the people standing around...I went to a club up here in Toronto, and the DJ dropped Hybrid - Visible Noise...once I heard it, I expected the crowd to explode...hehe, well, quite the contrary, EVERYONE just stood there, cept for me and 2-3 of my TA friends. People are too picky about the music here in North America. |
