They actually did this test in a Brazilian city which is located between both hemispheres and guess what: it's randomic. 50% of the times the water goes clockwise and the other 50%, counterclockwise :D |

This makes me think of the Simpsons episode when Bart called that kid in Australia to ask him which way the toilet flushes. :D |

lol wtf. University of Washington professor (HOUZE) did an experiment on this topic, and believe it or not. The water goes down the drain the same way disregarding northern or southern hemisphere. Tt's just how your toilet is built.

err.. no :) it does go the opposite way down a plughole, this is because of the magnetic pull etc... my mother has been to australia recently and proved this :D |

well, in toilets it is more important on how it is built because the force which makes water spin in a certain direction is a weak one, and if the toilet has mildly bended water pipes, it will spin in a desired direction. However, if you take a bathtub, and fill it with water and then let it go, it will usually spin in a same direction depending on the hemisphere.

I'd say it's more because of earths rotation, but I'm not quite sure about that. |

id say what you really should test is where it goes if its on th Equator :) Prime Meridian runs through greenwich on its way from the north pole to the south pole |

If positoned directly over a point where the magnetic fields are equal on both sides (which would be near impossible to setup) they fields would repel each other and the water would just slowly sink straight down. |
