OK Nik you just set yourself up for this lol - I assume this is going to be much longer then 3 min and (as you said before) will have load of stuff added to it -> because this type of music will definitely need that kind of (experimental) sounds and lots of FX.

Sounds like your structures is slowly evolving and direction where you wont to take this track to is definitely defined.

Like what you are creating so far and with a bit work on your kick (doesn't coexist with bass properly yet) could be really interesting concept worth of buying it.

Just my $0.02

Right now there's an ambient section starting from 8 minutes

I'm not sure if that gets in the final product.

I like the sound design and atmosphere, but that is pretty standard of your productions as you are experienced and skilled. It isn't that memorable or creative to me musically at this point, just a quality track production wise.

Cool. Very intro track sounding. A lot of nice touches in the track. It will be interesting to see the direction of the rest of the song.

Really like the atmosphere you create in tracks and all the small details. I wish I had better feedback than I think it is a great start and look forward to hearing it finished but that is what I got!

So you're going to have to head over to the Dutch, Swedes & Friends arena for this one. My goal is melodic, catchy, radio friendly.

This is tight. Would like to hear how you build it to this point and also see where you take it, but great stuff as usual.

Getting there mate. I mess about with this style (never put on here though) and I think you need slightly better melody work and a bigger sound and more regular changes to be radio friendly.

A great step in the right direction.

Quick question

I made this today, but I fear this melody already exists!!

Does it?

Posted by Raphie on Jan-11-2015 16:56:

Sounds very familiair/predictable can't name the track, but i can hum along instantly

Try shazam

So, Think it's really catchy, but the execution is not so good, very harsch and metalic sounding, loads of compression, but great arrangement and cheesy anthem. If you would like to collab on this one, happy to do a remix.

like it after 1min, starts to drag me into the vibe, enough low end here, but kick is a bit floaty, could be good, though i would like the sound design a bit more seperated and 3d it still sounds a bit bland

Posted by Raphie on Jan-11-2015 20:12:

some sound design in progress, want to end up with something tribal / dub techno deep thingy.... not really a song yet, just a jam mixing the elements, finding sweetspots, but you'll get the flavour

Hey thanks for the feedback. I would be happy for you to work with it! I'll send you a PM.

I don't recognize it myself. Stylistically it is familiar, but to lots of tracks, not one in particular.

Cool, I like that supersaw pad type lead. I think the snare could be a little louder. The intro is cool too as different elements come in.

This was meant to be deep house but took a bit of a different turn.

How is the mix and everything your end?

Posted by Andy28 on Jan-11-2015 22:29:

@ Caleb.. Pretty much what Raphie said. Great into it draws you straight in, but I start to get lost at 2:30 till 4:00 mins and lose interest.

@ Raphie.. Good idea but everything is sitting too far back in the middle. The bits you do give width sound great as a result of this but I think you really need to open things up a bit, well a lot in fact.

@ Richard.. Can't say I've heard that before, sounds like a really good idea though

@ Evo.. Your drums sound great again, it really is one of your stronger points. Sounds good overall but it needs something else?? I know it has bass, you can hear it but it needs to have more of a pattern/swing/groove to it imo, or even layer some mids to sit on top of it to achieve that.

@ Richard again.. Wasn't expecting this from you lol.. It's not bad actually not my thing at all but worth a listen.. Mix seems alright I guess, the vocal sounds a bit strange but I don't think that has out do to with the mix. The kick could maybe punch more it can get drowned out at places. The bass is quite funky, I'm liking that

not bad raphie, love those stab chords, they sound really nice

the bass your bring in is really dominating, doesnt leave for much space
your drums are a bit far back for my liking and for me that is way too much reverb on the snare

ill also throw in my usual criticism on here of not liking the kick, its a bit knocky or something

if you just prioritized those chord stabs, reduced the cutoff on the bass so its just there and not completely dominating and also mixed the drums a bit better i think it would be more enjoyable, my 2c

The balance in this thing is really great. Sometimes the vocals need a bit more space to stand out imo, but just a little. Overall a very interesting combination of sounds. At certain times the vocal is a bit too much. You've got a brilliant vibe going on though. Would be very interested in a dub version of this. Lovely groove and feel. I do lose my interest after about 2 mins unfortunately.

Sounds like you slowly migrating to EDM Richard - like what you did in this track so far, different, unique and crafty but for me this starts at 0:30 and pretty much go all the way to the end man. One thing that could make a huge difference in faith of this track is this vocal part which sounded to me as very heavy on treatment lol and this would be fine if is use from time to time as an FX but not (at least for me) as your main vocal element.

Cheer man,

Darek
