Despite being French and it took me a few minutes to realize that, I think Antigang was a nice average action movie. (3/5)
Everest: pretty good movie, shitty way to die. Watched "The Theory of Everything" last night. I think that guy did a good job portraying Hawking's mannerisms as result of his condition. From what I've read, the actual Hawking can be/is a bit more pretentious/assholish?

Originally posted by Zoso Just finished The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Not sure why it bombed, I thoroughly enjoyed this one! Hope they make a sequel. |

Originally posted by Jack I wasn't blown away by The Revenant. It was good, certainly virtuoso on a technical level (although rather in love with its own virtuosity) and Tom Hardy stole it for me, but I'm not sure why it's a shoe-in for every Oscar going. There's not really a lot going on underneath all the blood and snow and Di Caprio doesn't really have to do much beyond being convincingly agonised for most of the film. And am I the only one getting bored of him being tortured by feverish dreams of his past in every goddamn flick? |
If I was him I'd just go on a vacation to Siberia and make a "thank you" video for if he wins. As a "oh ok thank you but .. really?".
Just watched 'The Land of the Rings' such an amazing trilogy- highly recommended.
Also for those with kids, I recommend the cartoon ' Dumpo the Mammoth '

Originally posted by DJ RANN Armie Hammer is a friend of mine. - good bloke and fuck is he tall. It wasn't actually a bomb. It cost $75m to make and took over $100m. After marketing costs it probably broke even. Though it didn't do great in the USA, they're hoping it gets picked up for a sequel as it did well in the foreign markets. It's sometimes a bit hit and miss with Guy Ritchie films but TMFU was actually very well done and it really came down to timing and not enough people in the demographic knowing the heritage. That bodes well for a sequel and the rumor is it will get one with a bigger budget. |

Originally posted by Zoso I certainly hope so. That would be fabulous Amazon has the Blu-ray combo pack for 9.99 right now, so I just ordered it. ![]() |
Go see Deadpool, lol.

I think comic book movies need to take a hiatus of at least half a decade. Can you imagine the summer blockbuster season rolling around without even one SUPER HERO 3 movie being at theatres? How refreshing.
But who am I kidding, that will never happen. They're Hollywood's main cash cow.

Originally posted by AlphaStarred Wathced 3 films by Gaspar No: I Stand Alone, Irreversible, and Enter the Void. If you're into some dark, heavy, pretty nihilistic stuff, I recommend. Great cinematography and music, as well. His movies are not something you're likely to forget about for quite some time. |

Originally posted by Psyshell You should see his film "love" as well. It's lighter than the others but still very powerful. There's many scenes in his movies that feel so much more powerful and real than other movies imo. Also love has got 3d cumshots. |
Mad Max cleaning up the Oscars tonight. Won 6 categories of 10 nominated in so far.
I watched Secret in Their Eyes.
Nice movie (remake), but I had some difficulty recognizing the flashbacks.
Spotlight is a tour-de-force; Respect.
The Revenant is God-awful; rubbish, Leo could have won 'The Aviator' - Long Time ago. This film was simply painful to watch; no substance in the dialogue - DiCaprio is over-the-top. What were they thinking?
The Martian is suprisingly good, in spite of Matt Damon - douche on Mars. Lol. Jobs was excellent, he should have won Best Actor, but who am I to choose the WOscars.
I endured watching 'Our Band is Crisis' with Sandra Bullock, and while her performance was atrocious, the screenwriting is primo though.
I watched The Hobbit movies. Although I enjoyed them because I'm a big Tolkien fan something was off about the movies. I'll have to reread the book. The dialog especially in the last movie seemed bad as the star wars prequel.

Picked up The Hateful Eight on Blu-ray today. Now I just have to find the requisite 3 hours to devote to my love for Tarantino.

^ Just started watching it today, 55 mins. through - pretty entertaining so far.
Enjoyed The Hateful Eight, saw the 70mm version and didn't mind the runtime. I thought everyone's character was well done and what a gnarly poison scene.
The Hateful Eight was fantastic. The Blu-ray transfer is stunning, so I can only imagine how good the 70mm road show looked!
