Star Wars came out yesterday (bluray rental)

Much better than the previous movies, dialogue and acting. I was surprised how old Han & Leia looked and was disappointed they didn't have that magic they use to have. At the beginning I wasn't sure if this was a remake of the first but came to realize it was an homage of sorts.

Yeah it was crystal clear quality viewing and bigger. People sitting outside stadium seating literally had turn their heads from side to the other. I wish there would have been more scenic/outdoors but your eye could really wander in the cabin scenes.

Really liked the scene with Russell finding Goggins in the forest with thick snowfall. That's where it started to get immersive for me.

Theatrophobic?

It would be ideal especially with a special effect movie but it can be difficult finding someone who wants to see it who hasn't already and scheduling it. The convenience of watching from the comfort of my home when I want to see it is great.

I received my UHD BD/BD combo pack for The Revenant yesterday. I don't have the required gear yet, but having my first physical UHD Blu-ray in hand significantly increases the desire to upgrade to a UHD TV (preferably with HDR and WCG) and a UHD BD player. Vizio's new P series intrigues me the most, as it supports wide color gamut and both Dolby Vision and HDR10 high dynamic range formats. Although Samsung has the only "you can buy it today" UHD player, I am waiting on Panasonic and Sony to see what their players bring to the market. I've always had great luck with the picture quality from Sony's products.

We will sometimes watch a movie in bed on one of our devices at bed time to have something to doze off to. Pretty sure we've discovered the best movie to promote great sleep, because we've put it on 3 times now, and each time both of us have had a very solid 8-9 hours of sleep, lol.

It's called Breach and it stars Ryan Phillipe and Chris Cooper. Something about the FBI. It might even be a great movie but I really don't know more because we always fall asleep almost instantly.

Breach is simply "okay". My cousin was all torn up about it and recommended, but it was just fair, at best.

Well if you're having trouble sleeping, it's excellent. Lol.

I once had a roommate who needed the tv on to sleep. I found it annoying because I like complete darkness and quite to sleep. My mom is funny she likes to sleep sitting up on the couch watching tv. If I turn it off she immediately wakes up.

I can't sleep for shit with a TV on. The constant changes in loudness and brightness fuck with me head, mang.

Posted by Silky Johnson on May-06-2016 15:12:

Yeah same. I also just don't think TV should be in the bedroom at all.

What?! How do you watch yourself fuck?

We actually have a mirror at the end of our bed.

Now, Pie. As a nurse, you should know that's a damned good way to get cut.

Bahahahahaha.

You strike me as quite a practical individual as well, so I am confident you have gauze, sterile bandages, and sutures. My wife saw a huge tray tackle box converted to a nursing kit on Pinterest. Guess what we have in the corner now?

Oh yeah have a whole drawer of goodies in the bathroom. I often forget to empty my scrubs at the end of a shift so I come home with all kinds of great dressing supplies.

This happens at our domicile, too. I come down early in the AM, and the kitchen table looks like someone was scheduled for surgery the night before. I just work around it.

I watched "The Witch" a couple of days ago. It was a interesting period piece/"horror" mashup. Very nice attention to detail, and some great cinematography with lots of natural lighting.

I also picked up the 20th anniversary remastered release of "Independence Day" on Blu-ray for ten bucks. Cheesy as hell, and riddled with plot holes, that's still one of my favorite "just fun" movies of all time. I hope the sequel is just as fun.
