Need a flavor from you guys. Need your ears
This is part of a wip I am doing but I am really having a tough time with this vocal stem. Is it me or am I getting a serious amount of backend noise.
What I am hearing is a clicking noise and a almost "sub" hit after each pronunciation.
I dont have monitors and use cans for mixing and this is seriously annoying me. Is it me?

Also, when I add reverb to the stem the sub sound really is pronounced.

Great song. The only two things that stood out for me was the attack on the main cho synth, for me it sounds a little too clicky, and the choice of sound for the cho melody synth that comes in around 2:28 for me sounds a little cheesy? Mix is great though! Hope you get a good vocalist that will do it justice!

Btw, where's the piano sound from, sounds really nice?

not bad, wouldnt be into vocally stuff like this personally, a lot of stuff going on there at the same time but youve managed to get all seperated as best as possible i think

im hearing distortion at certain points, not really hearing any sub, anyway just highpass the sample??

a little cheesy for my tastes but not bad. be careful on the bass, i think you could a tiny bit more low end out of it

Would you consider adding another element just to make it a bit more characterful? Something like the occasional vocal hit? For me it does need something extra.

Mate I admire the work in this but it doesn't grab me in any way apart from the first piano part which h is quite nice. I imagine this feedback is a bit of bummer but I'd rather be honest so you can throw your energy into something better. My last WIP here was not good so as ever many of us are constantly in the process of elation then coming down to earth.

This is very familiar territory. Those back end clicks and noise are a common problem.
First thing I do with any vocal is get the scissors out and zoom right in to remove as much of this as possible BUT I find I then often need to automate the volume because some extraneous noise always remains and if you chop it out you often get a bad click, so I will do something like a fast volume slope on any remaining issues.

Then it's time to eq - there's a fair bit of 'the room' in this take, but personally I prefer this to a totally bone dry vocal.

Mate this is just very like something we see on the Eurovision song contest, perhaps the entry from a Romania or Belarus, it sounds about 15 years out of date.

Sorry mate I suspect you have some sort of deep attachment to It, but my advice would be off it and move on.

Just one suggestion: add vocal to it before I will comment on it - this way everything else (like all of your sounds/instruments) will have to sit slightly different way so final effect will be effected.

Find a specific frequency where this is happening, if this is constant/same range along this whole vocal recording then you could remove/undercut if not then you get ready for some bumpy ride

Let me/us know in what freq this persist.

Edit: It will be some amount of work if this is all over this freq. but you could (if you are familiar with Adobe Audition software) to mask it to some extend.

I'm not sure if I already comment on this but anyway: first work with your vocal - is this really clean recording? if yes I would like to expose more in your track, make is stand out more (you push it to far back for my taste) two, upgrade some of your key instruments sounds to up today ones to make your music more interesting/catchy.

Mate, no need to apologise, the older I get the less attached I get to my music which I think is healthy. Your Eurovision comment made me laugh! Pisser!

So, is it the production that's out of date, or both the song and production?

You know I actually sort of was going for a cheesy vibe at 2:28 as it is an EDM song. The piano is PianoOne vst!

I think it is a bit dated in style but that is just a taste thing. Are the vocals original or from another song? I think you have a lot of good musical elements to work with. I might use the higher second vocals in a few less places. I like it overall.
