reminds me a bit of Out Of The Blue but the mixdown is a bit muddy, i think that staccato lead is taking a bit too much space, could do with some low-mid removed, maybe it has too much reverb? whatever it is the mix isnt really gelling together imo

more techno style this one

I like it. Especially arps .. The only thing bothers me is a bit strange chord transition on 2:24, something sounds off to me.

Something i've been working on yesterday.

Your getting as bad as me lol, you need to finish some of your tracks and get them out there!!!

Alright guys...

Here's a remix I've been working on for Cryo.. Go easy on me its my first ever vocal track and its just basically my take on Daves original so chords and melody are all his doing I've just basically reworked it but in a more trance kind of way..

Its not completely finished so as per per feedback and any suggestions are more then welcome.

Cheers

Andy and Dave nice work, it flows well.

My only critique is you need to work the vocals;

1) sometimes I'm hearing something weird almost like the vocal is run through little bursts of rapid wah/wah

2) Remove a little mids from the vocal to bring it out

3) Layer it - some quiet layers, different eqs and slightly moved

4) needs pleanty of long tails delays and automated hi pass verbs (probably 3)

5) autpmated fx such as chorus here n there

Also a few vocal fx stabs in the drop

I love doing vocals so always feel fee to pm me

The key with vocals is lots of automation - for example less delay in the mix as each word is sung, more delay in the mix just after each word

Some good tips there Richard, I'll see what I can do.

Thanks

the vocal for me is a bit too dry for that style of track, id add a plate style reverb if you have one but dont overdo it, maybe some bits of delay here and there, little bit of chorus
i think the kick and bass need to come up together a bit more, its not far off but when i turn it up its not really thumping yet

EDIT:

I think I am going to redo the synth progression in the first half after listening to it again.

Overall this sounds good to me, although it doesn't sound particularly current. I get a 90's vibe from this track. I think the mixing sounds good and it is interesting albeit mellow and progressive.

Sounds awesome! It is a bit dated in style in my opinion, but it is pretty and melodic and those songs sound good year in and year out in my opinion.

Here is a remix I did with my pal DJ Veaux for Cryophonik & Avonlea Montague. This is mainly for promotional purposes as the song is finished, however this section gets more views these days :P

i like the start man but after that it just gets too complicated with too many different styles IMO

i would drop the funk bass sound and that stab and try and come up with something that grooves a bit better, the section from 2:34 to the break is nice, i would also use that!

Andy, most of your effort should be directed on Amy vocal as this could make a massive difference on final product - there is at lease few good ways of getting this vocal a nice lift (as Richard mention already) but also you could use another cool method of creating massive revers reverb to support Amy main vocal (PM me if you would like to know how this is created as I don't wont to wright long comment lol) - I use this method in my "Ultraviolet" remix

Cheers,

Darek

Sounds great. The only thing I noticed right away was the vocal eq, sounds as though the vocal was eq'd whilst solo'd not while the whole track is playing, so to me it sounds out of balance. I would add in some more top end "air" ( 10 khz shelf) and reduce the mids.

nice work!

I feel I always over do it a tad so I purposely toned it down a bit.. You talking in terms of volume or do u think a tad eq boost would do it??

Yeah I get what you mean about the reverse verb trick but will pm you later anyway about something else.. Cheers

Thanks to everyone else for their positive comments, but alot of credit has to go to Dave, I've just put my twist on his track. I'll get round to giving feedback to others when I get a chance..

So overall it seems my issues are with the vocals, some great advice from all you guys so big thanks and hopefully I can put them to good use.

Cheers

Can really imagine this with big floatey leads following the existing main synth, great for the floor

id raise the kick about 2db, you could try an eq boost around 1k, just so it punches through a bit more

generally speaking though its better to cut out other stuff in the track thats blocking the kick

theres no real punch in the kick, just attack - id try layering it with a kick thats a bit deeper?

10 points for the title! love it.

Really dig this, chord progression really suits it.
On first listen the things that stuck out for me:
The kick sounds like a sample of a real bass drum one shot but on my headphones it sounds low fidelity.
The breakdown at 2:40 where that mono lead synth comes in, that lead for me was pumping too much for me to really enjoy its part (which is great), what about having everything else pumping but removing that from the sidechaining and put some ping pong delay or something. My 2 cents! Overall really enjoyed it. Again, the title is killer!
